Who I am

and what I like

the most

Gio Patalano

My name is Giovanni Patalano but everybody calls me Gio. I was born in Venice in 1973. I graduated in Milan at "Riccardo Bauer School of Photography and Visual Arts", over a privileged moment of transition from analogue to digital photography. From then on, I've been involved in significant productions both in Italy and mostly abroad. My creative language brings together the strenght of experiences deeply rooted in advertising and fashion photography, post-prod and graphic design.

It has given rise to a multidisciplinary approach, that led me to investigate self-produced designs so far. Finally the studio comes as a natural consequence of this journey, a place dedicated to pure experimentation, where the only purpose is to free oneself from the strain given by "reaching the goal at any cost". Self-production instead is a great opportunity for a creative growth.

Every single stage that rules the workflow must be constantly discussed and reinterpreted due to the technologies, which are often undersized, and the result that you want to obtain, which is not always predictable. Apparently these "limits" represent an obstacle in the workflow, on the contrary they are lifeblood, the great resource on which to base one's creative identity.

People I love

to collaborate

with

Matteo Seguso

I was born in Venice in 1973. My parents are from Murano and I have always lived on the island "of glass" par excellence. Dad was an engraver, I grew up surrounded by glass, but my career did not start straight away as an engraver. It was only in 1998 that I discovered this inclination of mine, when my father asked me if I wanted to try my hand at this art. So, officially, I have been sitting at the lathe since 1st January 1999. I started with great difficulty, but something then triggered off the spark and in a couple of years I fell madly in love with my job.

Arianna Vio

Master of art of pictorial decoration complements his studies at the University Institute of Architecture of Venice with a focus on restoration and protection of historical architectural heritage. He collaborates with the General Progetti studio (of the architect Barbara Accordi) following small renovations of apartments, the new installations of the Oriental Museum of Ca' Pesaro, the Off Circuit of the Goldoni Theatre (under the artistic direction of Alessandro Gasmann). She collaborates with the Patriarchate of Venice working for the Office of Cultural Heritage and Pastoral Tourism as a Custodian and Guide in the places of the historic center under diocesan jurisdiction (the Churches, the Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art, the Patriarchal Palace, the complex of Sant'Apollonia and the churches of Torcello).
